This temple was near my house when I was volunteering in Cambodia, and one weekend I helped the local builders fix the pedestal of the big buddha statue. In exchange they let me sit in the temple and paint it. I wanted the temple to look very imposing so I sketched it in an exaggerated 2-point perspective, and made a huge ray of light come through the door in a very dramatic way. I really like how it turned out.
Painted on location and printed directly from my sketchbook on museum-grade archival paper, in off-white and uncoated:
- Weight: matte 250 gsm (110 lb)
